About You:
You are looking for fulfilling, meaningful work that provides flexibility in your schedule to balance personal and professional priorities. Perhaps you have been flying solo in the accounting world for a while and now you want to work with a team in a collaborative environment. Perhaps you are an accounting or bookkeeping graduate with your first job under your belt and are looking to improve your skills and grow with a passionate group of accounting nerds. Whatever your life situation may be, when challenges come knocking, you find solutions and take action. You have a curiosity and drive to learn and grow professionally and personally and give back to others. This is a permanent senior bookkeeping/controller position starting at 75% of a full-time position.
Skills, values and requirements we are looking for:
- Canadian accounting, bookkeeping degree or equivalent with 5 years working experience in Canada.
- Previous exposure to payroll processing.
- QBO experience is required. Xero experience is an asset.
- Love organizing anything and everything, giving loving attention to details.
- Technology is your friend. We are a virtual technology company using cloud-based applications such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Office 365, Teamwork, Dext, Hubdoc, etc.
- Experience analyzing financial data and building reports for small businesses.
- You thrive working autonomously and excel in a remote working environment (aka your home). You will be working 100% from your own location except for quarterly meetings and team celebrations.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- You value timely communication with the world around you.
Your Work:
We do fractional full cycle bookkeeping, AR, AP, payroll, sales taxes, cashflow and financial reporting services for our valued clients. In helping us support our clients you would:
- Find your tasks/deadlines for the week in Teamwork and start working your way through them as it fits your schedule and the deadlines that week.
- Communicate on a daily and timely basis (during the business week) with team and/or clients you are working with.
- Keep the ‘ship’ organized and always working to find solutions to improve the flow of business.
- Document process changes to enable us to deliver consistent results.
- Be part of our regular team check-ins to discuss and resolve challenges together.
- Join the team for quarterly face-to-face meetings in the Caledon, Ontario area.
